How do you know you are actually transmitting valid signals for your receiver to receive?

Have you tried just testing the display itself, perhaps just displaying 8888 or the like?

Have you tried setting your display brightness to 7 as a test instead of 1? Perhaps it is just too dark to be visible? I once spent an embarrassing amount of time with a LCD that had it's brightness turned down way too far.......

I'm still not firing on all cylinders but did manage a quick QoS test and it seems to be working fine. I had my chart send messages to my broker, then disconnected my PC client, sent another message and reconnected PC client. It then obtained the message.
