2d panel

Post by WingNut »

It would be nice to have the labels or add labels to each of the components on the 2d panel. E.g. pushbutton 1, led etc
Hopefully you can see the image. If a project is complicated it can be difficult to choose the correct button, knob, input etc
Don't forget. I'm an idiot so if its in there already point me in the right direction and accept an apology in advance

Hi.
I like to use static text which are 2D only as they look neat and are so versatile.
See what you think to my demo I put together.
Alternatively, You can use just use labels, but they don't look as smooth.
Both are found within Components Libraries ribbon, Creation

Hi WingNut, Hi Martin

You can also do a group. The componente and the label will always stay together . Or you can make a group with all potmeters and labels then they always stay together even if you move them.
You only have to select with the mouse all and then choose "Selection" - "Group" with the right mouse button

@Martin This with AN1 and the black frame is nice. Now I understand how to bring static text2 to front and shape1 to back.

regards

Stefan

Even better. Though you use shift to select multiple components rather than the windows ctrl

I'm glad I have helped . :)

You have different choices.
On the 2D or 3D panel:
1. Hold left mouse button down and swipe (also know and rubber band selection).
2. Hold the shift down and select individual components.
3. Go to properties, select the dropdown arrow then select as the same as 1 & 2.

Once grouped, you can use the Scale or move icons at the top of the 2D or 3D panels.
You can also copy and paste groups which save adding additional components.
