Writing to Console Text Viewer

Post by jay_dee »

Hi,
I would like to show console data on the 2D dash.
I can see good data via the standard console window.
I have linked the Console Writer component and Console Text Viewer.
The attached FAD is a cut down version of a Value Monitor program I am trying to improve, in this demo a fixed string is regularly written to the console but I cant get anything on the 2D dashboard's console, in simulation or as an expoerted FAD program.
Any ideas?

Hello,

Many thanks for letting us know, I have now found and fixed the problem for you.

I don't have access to the update system today so I'll push the fix for you tomorrow. However for now you can apply the fix yourself by copying the attached into the directory shown below.

C:\ProgramData\MatrixTSL\FlowcodeV9\Components

Please note this directory is hidden by default so the easiest way to get there is to copy and paste the address into your file explorer address bar.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks Ben,
File copied to directory and confirmed. Also ran updates in FC. FC fully closed and reopened.
No change to 2D console viewer behavior. Unless I'm doing something silly.

OK..that is odd, I treid everything but my test program would just not work but it does in my original FAD program. I must have have done something dumb.
But Looks like I can get back to work on the main program which is the main thing! Thanks, Ben.
