Yes - adding interrupts etc isn't quite as staightforward for a component - as other MCUs might differ?
I used TMR1 - for the timing and at 32MHz a 1uS 'tick' is easy - but I probably should have used the timer component
I just used the INT pin (INT0) - as it only needs a falling edge detection - but IOC (who knew there is a component!) - would be good too!!

My first version used the timer component, however due to a bug I reported here, I had to change to the timed interval.
Hopefully that will be more tolerant to different platforms.

I have just changed some register names for timer 1, and your NEC decoder works great on 16F18877

I did a 'workaround' for the timer component bug - (requires the 'GetTime' checking whether the timer has overflowed (by checking the interrupt flag)) - but it was a while ago - and I couldn't remember what project it was in (I'm blaming old age )

Your blaming old age, I have a great grandchild with one grandchild, and I have another grandchild who is pregnant
Hopefully if it is a bug it will be resolved soon
