Flowcode Support Board

Hello my name is Keys, from California.

Im a solo student working on a project trying to learn and go further with ESP programming.
Flowcode V11 is very amazing, I have already done a dozen simple projects. Im getting better every day.

Im working on a budget with donated hardware.
Looking at my expected license fees to continue with my project im at 330 for the pro + 180 = 510 for the arduino and esp32 packages.
Add to that the USD and transfer im roughly 510 x 1.2 = $610. That will take me about 2-3 months to save up for.

Ive been watching tutorials on youtube and finally have got to a point where I've created a project to compile with the hardware I have available.
I'm currently at a standstill.
Unfortunately the donated ESP32 Devkit V1 boards I have are not unlocked in the "free" basic version.
I have also been limited in my ability to test the touch screen elements because of license limitations.

I figure it doesnt hurt to ask...
Is there any way to test these features with a temporary license for a couple months?
Any chance there is a discount code available of some sort to help with the purchase?

Welcome to the forum and congrats on completing the projects, we are always interested to hear about what Flowcode's being used for out in the field.

The ESP32 Devkit V1 uses the ESP32 WROOM module which is a free target. So my advice would be for now change your target to the free ESP32 WROOM module and you will be able to compile using the free license. It's maybe not ideal as the pin out of the target view is going to be off and the COM port autodetect likely won't work but otherwise it should be fairly seamless.

You could also buy the chip packs and leave the Pro until later when you are creating commercial projects/products.

We have also in the past been willing to grant licenses in exchange for things like case studies where you document your project and give us something to shout about.

If your project involves the ESP and it is no a commercial venture, then you probably just need the ESP chip-pack to unlock that device. That is just £90 (approx. $108).

And if this project is part of your course then if might be beneficial for your educational institution to buy an academic license of Flowcode. This unlocks pro features and all chip-packs (except for commercial use) for multiple users, and students can be given a free use-at-home license. Please pass this info on to your tutor and ask them to get in touch with us via our contact page for more details.

I was able to use your advice just now and toggle some of the pins by using the generic free ESP32 target and mapping different ports.
Its a cool trick for now, this does get me one step closer.

Unfortunately I cannot do any layout or design for frames on the LCD without the PRO license.
I can generate basic text and shapes using code and send to the LCD, but I cannot use a GUI for shapes or frame/layout design elements.

I can do away with the Arduino license for now.
To continue properly I would definitely need Pro version for the LCD /Display design elements... and the ESP32 chip pack for the hardware available to me.

Currently my design is not a commercial venture (wish it was or maybe one day could be).
If you think this can be useful for a Case Study, I would really appreciate a shot at it.
I am trying to focus this on helping solve issues with modular notifications for example, for a kids room, toddler school, or elderly facility.

Its a personal project that I do not mind to share.
I currently working on a design that fits in a light switch wall receptacle.
I did the PCB layout in KICAD and 3D printed the inserts.
the LCD are generic 2.4" TFT 240x320 until I find more elegant solutions.
Eventually making the POE a little more sleek, instead of adapters.

Either way, whether accepted for a case study license or not...
I will definitely try to purchase my own license by the end of the year.
