Thanks Ben, I'll give that a try.

Binary word serial output
Hi,
I'd be grateful for any advice.
I need to output a 40 bit word serially from a single port.
I have figured out a way to do it that works but it seems very wasteful and inefficient.
What I've done is represent the 40 bit word as a string array (which uses up 40 bytes instead of 5 bytes) and ...

Re: I2C Queue
Hi Ben,
Thanks for looking. I figured out a work around by slowing down the simulation. I was running the simulation in "as fast as possible" and by slowing to 1000 I can get the text box up. I have to click the + button somewhere between 1 and 4 times but it does at least appear. The problem ...

Re: I2C Queue
Hi Ben,
I added the rs232 component and still no text box from the + button. I tried clicking the + button randomly at different points in the simulation and every now and then the text box does appear. No discernable pattern to it appearing or not. However, after playing around I found that if I ...

Re: I2C Queue
Hi,
The I2C queue feature doesn't appear to be working on my installation. With the simulation running I press the + button but no text box appears. Nothing happens at all.
I've repaired and uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times but still no text box. Any ideas....?

I2C Queue
Hi,
In the I2C component there is a queue box and in the help file it says "The simulation also has a queue for data that has been received so that users can simulate incoming I²C data."
Sorry, I'm probably a bit thick but I just can't figure out how this works and can't find any info in the forum ...

Re: I2C Init
Hi Ben,
Have you looked into this I2C init issue any further?
Since my last post I've tried a different controller (18F4520), different memory (24LC02), different clock (4MHZ) and a different board.
In all cases I'm able to cause problems by moving the I2C init macro (corrupt data or lockups)
The ...

Re: I2C Init
Hi Ben,
Here are two files. One works fine, the other locks up at the I2C init macro. The only difference is the position of the I2C init component macro. Both run ok in the simulation.
dm4_i2c_4620_lockup.fcf is the one with the lockup.
I'm using a 18F4620 @ 20MHz with a 24LC256 connected directly ...

I2C Init
Hi,
I have an instance of the I2C init macro hanging the program in HW. I want to perform a write to an external I2C eeprom 24LC256 but it doesn't get past the I2C init macro. Everything works ok in the simulator. When should the init macro be run? Right at the start of the program or just before ...
