Re: CMCON on a 12f629
Thanks for the quick reply, this chip does not do any ADC but accepts an anologue in on bit 0. So it looks like the coding I have to do will be in configuring the port to read analogue. One thing (among many) I liked about Flowcode was it was not necessary to config the ports in TRISA, it seems this ...

CMCON on a 12f629
I would like to read an analog voltage and if a certain level is present go to a set of instructions (basically just turn an output high). Right now I'm doing it outside the chip with op amps and an opto isolator and turning it into a high to feed a port. The voltage I'm reading is an audio voltage ...

Re: strange problem
medelec, I went into the expert configure and found two problems at first, the setting was set to external on Master Clear Enable, plus my clock was external though that one I found at the beginning. I wentx back to real simple, a program with no inputs, just flash an LED, but I have learned the ...

Re: strange problem
Ben, my thoughts exactly, something about the board, I added a filter cap right across the rails 47uF, I really thought that would do it, but still no go, if I added a smaller hi frequency cap like a pico or such wouldn't it still add up to the higher capacitance seeing their in parallel. Has anyone ...

Re: strange problem
Hello medelec, thanks for your advice, as you said these floating inputs can cause problems so I did use a pull down resistor, still no go, on the breadboard the only connects are vdd and vss, the input is open, the output will drive an LED or logic probe. This is strange to me, what i did was in ...

strange problem
I programmed a 12F629 and inserted it into my breadboard and it works fine, so I put it on my perfboard in a socket and it will not work, it has an internal oscillator so my connections are only voltage supply and ground, no other connections to the ports, the program simply turns a port on high ...

Re: TMR0 interrupts example tutorial
On the program interrupt1 that I downloaded the interrupt box says TMR0 on rising edge, the prescaler is 128, so the interrupt occurs right after TMR0 hits max count which will be multiplied by a 1:1 x 128, am I correct? How do I load a value into the TMR0 register (it is a register I think), if so ...

Re: TMR0 interrupts example tutorial
so can you use an interrupt set by a hardware condition met such as a high or pulse on a pin etc, go to that macro then disable the same interrupt and enable it again this time being an internal TMRO interupt with the TMR0 set back to 00h for timing purposes within the macro, return from the macro ...

Re: TMR0 interrupts example tutorial
medelec, so we enabled the TMR0 interupt near the start, is that when TMR0 starts it count or does TMR0 run constantly then the actual interupt occurs when it goes one over its count limit? Does the prescalar let the time go longer by dividing the count by that prescalar number (128 in this case ...

TMR0 interrupts example tutorial
Is there a basic understandable example of using the timer in interrupts. In experimenting so as to understand them the program jumps to the macro right after the interrupt is enabled (as if enabling an interrupt is also the cause of an interrupt). As timers count "up" one would think the condition ...

Re: pulse out and slow simulate
yes, two sensors makes sense, if I used one and started the count waited 360 degrees my number and be very high, a lower number would be better to manage. At low speed (high count) my retard (long delay) would be max, as speed picked up and the number dropped I would lower (lessen) the delay. My ...

Re: pulse out and slow simulate
thank you, what I'm trying to do is this, a wheel spins at variable speeds (a flywheel actually as in a single cylinder engine), there is a trigger at a fixed location on the wheel and a pickup stationary that is triggered every 360 degrees of wheel rotation. The fixed pulse will be a negative pulse ...

Re: pulse out and slow simulate
thanks, but I'm unclear how to set a value for the timer, I want a 250 msec pulse out, so I set that pin, go to interupt and the direction there says TMR0, does this mean "timer = 0", where do I set a value to start the count down from to make it last 250 msec, is this a variable I must set ...

pulse out and slow simulate
I want to send a pulse out of a pin on a port, like a one shot of fixed duration, I can do it with a 1 out, a delay, then clear the bit or go low, is there a pulse out command, or is it in C or Assembly I must do this, if so what would the syntax be, also can I do slow simulate when testing programs ...

new to Flowcode
Hello, my Flowcode softwaew arrived yesterday and by last night I was able to use some simple sample programs and get an idea how it works, I modified some programs to learn some basic programming like decision, switch branch, loops , reading and writing to ports. What is nice it seems to what i ...
