Thanks Benj,
But this us back to the original problem where data from the data from the card does not get entirely sent over the serial port.
The macro displays the entire file on the lcd but when i change the code to send to rs232 rather than display lcd, it sends "EOF" suddenly and stops.

Re: Reading from SD Card
Hi Benj,
The LED test works fine at the follwoing settings:
Xtal = 12Mhz
PLL Settings = HS2, 16x
Baud Rate at 9600, error 0%
Question is, is my clock frequency 24MHz or 96MHz. The formula below says 24MHz, but the 1 second flasher AS WELL AS RS232 communication only works with 96MHz.

Re: Reading from SD Card
Hi Benj,
This morning i got the same code to read through the entire file and display it on the LCD by disabling the watchdog timer. However It does not send the data over the serial line for some reason.
I am trying to use "RS232 Send Char" and reading it on the PC end. Any ideas??

Reading from SD Card
Hello,
I am trying to read a csv file from an sd card using the dsPIC30F4013. However, the program is not reading the entire file but rather a small part of it.
I used a modified version of the example program from the flowcode examples provided online.

Re: dsPIC30F4013 error
Hi Benj
I have finally manged to solve the issue by creating a new macro for serial comms.
Thanks for your help.

Re: dsPIC30F4013 error
Hi Benj,
I have attached the program for you.
The macro in question in "Labview_Connected"
At this moment the program goes upto [LCDPrintstring "L1"] after that it escapes the macro and enter "Check_SD" macro.
Thanks.

Re: dsPIC30F4013 error
Hi,
As 24MHz is not available (20MHz and 40MHz is the nearest). In version 4, I chose 48MHz with HS2 PLL 8x. I just tried 1 second led flasher, it works precisely. But rs232 macro still fails. The macro is an EXACT copy from a working file.

Re: dsPIC30F4013 error
Hi Benj
Thank you for your advice. I have tried the settings that you have suggested (HS2 PLL 4x) and my program works fine. However the serial communication still fails to work.
The program runs fine on the simulation but in hardware for some reason the macro DOES NOT execute entirely. It exits ...

Re: dsPIC30F4013 error
Thanks for the reply.
I am using the 12MHz crystal with the board.
I finally got my pic working today, but not the serial communications bit. The oscillator settings is "XT"
I ran a previous version of my code from a few months back, and its works PERFECTLY!!
Under settings, it has "ECIO w/PLL 4x ...

Higher transfer rates on SD cards
Hello I am using a dsPIC30F4013 for data acquistion and EB037 to store the data on an sd card. I want to increase the data storing rate on the SD card. At the moment it is about 1.1Hz, but the dspic samples data at over 100Ksps. Is it possible to write to the sd card at similar frequency levels ...
