V4.5 and Keypad

Post by nmindana »

Hi Team,

Thank you very much for the update.

Just one question.
Port B interrupt function with the keypad still doesn't work with the updated version. Will this work properly with V5 ?
Or is it a case of using custom "C" code every time.

Many thanks

regards

Indana

Could you please explain the situation a bit more fully. I know there are a few issues relating to the keypad and interrupts but I thought there was generally no problem when running on the actual chip.

Hello Steve
He means that the PORT interrupt in V4.5 upgrade, is still available for simulation only from RB.4-RB.7 . New devices like P16F887 offer PORT interrupt in all pins of Port B. Probably nmindana works with the new PICs and has the same problem like me. By any way, we know that is just a lack of simulator. In actual hardware - programmed with FC and EB006 - the PORT interrupt is working just fine in all pins of Port B.

Ahh, I see. It was this comment that threw me because this inferred that there was an issue running on the chip:
Or is it a case of using custom "C" code every time.

Hi Steve,
Sorry I did not explain myself properly, and fotios is right but why does it not work on the simulator ?
Is it something impossible to do, if you don't mind me asking !.

It is not impossible to do and we are going to fix this as part of the V5 development.
