Re: lcd scrolling
Hi siliconchip,
I loaded your flowchart on to my hardware and the wording looked clear to me.
However the starting values placed into LCD I did not agree with.
You started cursor with xposition x = 0
If scrolling from right I would start the cursor with x = 15 since 15 is the last position on the right of LCD.
Can you try attached flowchart please.
you will need to connect a variable resistor to AN0
Altering resistance will alter the scrolling delay from 100ms to nealy 500 ms.
The value of delay is scrolled on the bottom line.
Message will be constantly scrolling. Just alter the pot until your happy with the scrolling speed.
Then the delay shown on LCD can be used as a fixed delay and ADC component can be removed if desired.

Edit: A post was made while typing this reply out. Sorry if information is repeated.

Re: lcd scrolling

Re: lcd scrolling
I tried on my hardware which is EB005 Eblock:
http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/product.php?Prod=EB005
Display scrolls with no issues at at all.
I did have a Blue LCD display with white characters. I will see if I can find that and give it a try

Hi siliconchipsiliconchip wrote:ive tried too upload a pic but its too large
What I do is load the image in paint. Paint in Windows 7 has a crop function.
Crop the picture so only necessary part is shown.
save as png.
If size is still too large, paint also has a Resize function.
Using this method I have uploaded full screen shots on these forums in the past.

Edit Sorry post crossed.
I should learn to type faster

@siliconchip
I have tried using lighted Blue background and white Chars.
I have to agree with you. The slower the clearer, but its is rubbish at scrolling!
I have posted a LCD scroll function, not using the scroll components in the past. Tried that with this LCD and its the same.
The LCD display i'm using is Displaytech 162:
http://www.compart.pl/Portals/0/pdf/lcd ... es-v11.pdf
I will see if I can improve the scrolling display, but I don't feel that confident.
With standard black on grey, scrolling is perfect.
I guess it could have something to do with the brightness and persistence of vision?
