Flowcode 6.1.0.0 LCD and string display

Post by Alain Bideberry »

Hi!

I have a problem in 6.1.0.0 Flowcode to display a string on an LCD EasyPIC7 a card from MikroElectronika with a PIC18F45K22 .
No problem with a PIC18F452 on the same card.

With PIC18F45K22, the problem seems to come from the inclusion of the strings. The simulation is correct.
Tests performed:
1/ Control Ports A, B, C, D, E on PIC18F45K22 : shift of one led: ok
2a/ Display of 3 ASCII characters with PrintASCII: ok
2b/ Display 3 ASCII characters stored in a string with PrintASCII in a loop : problem
2c/ Display "123" string with printString: problem
3/ No problem with the same displays made from a program written and compiled in MikroC 6.4.0

Attached files:
PIC18F45K22 TstLCD.zip: test on the PIC showing the problem 2-b, 2-c
PIC18F452 TstLCD.zip: OK
C TstLCD 45K22.zip : display with 18F45k22 and MikroC OK

Would you have an idea of the origin of this problem? Thanks for your answer.

Hi Alain.
I have deleted your duplicate post in French.
Can you only create a singe topic please.

Within your flowchart you have Extended instruction set Enable bit - Enabled.
That is known to cause problems with LCD's
If not programming via 5V only then you will also need to disable single supply programming as that will use a pin of port B up making it unusable for i/p or output
I believe its port B5 with is the same pin as you have got LCD enable connected to.
In MikroC you have the Extended instruction set Enable bit and low voltage programming Disabled.
