PIC16Fxxx for 2.8volt supply (or less) with RS232 Tx

Hi all,
Does anyone know of a PIC16Fxxx that I could use for 2.8volt supply (or preferably less) with RS232 Tx function? I thought the F83 or F84 would be good (at 2volts min.) but they have no Tx capability (don't need Rx as well).
It would have to work with Flowcode V4 professional - which I use and I would prefer minimal pin count as I not doing anything complicated.
I have been searching around but am new to the whole microprocessor business and not found one yet except for the PIC16F1933,4,6,7,8,9 (and 'LF' versions), which seems to require a HI-TECH C compiler from Microchip. I need to be able to use the Flowcode V4.5 Compiler and the HP488 Development board which I already have!
Really grateful for any feedback on the original query.
Many thanks in advance
Chris

Take a look at this microchip product selector:
http://www.microchip.com/productselecto ... ector.html
All you do is select 8bit then move sliders to the maximum and minimum voltages:
If your browser allows it you can click on device, and link for datasheet will appear. It's best to confirm in the datasheet the voltage range after you have found a device you may be intrested in.

16F1823,16F1824,16F1826
, 16F1827,16F1828,16F1829, 16F1933, 16F1934, 16F1936, 16F1937, 16F1938, 16F1939 incluing LF range became available with boost C with Flowcode V4.5 since that included new boost c update.
Devices you mentioned could only be used with hitec with Flocode V4.3

Hi Martin,
Appreciate your information and I have just been looking at Microchips' own selector but the one you show here looks a lot clearer - I will be giving it a try shortly.
I have realised whilst looking at more chips, however, that MANY of them run down to 1.8 to 2 volts anyway - including the PIC16F88 which comes with the Development Board I have and which I am already running with and thought was 5v! Until now, I thought the MAJORITY were around the 5 volt mark.
Thanks for the Hi-Tech feedback too - it is useful to know about these things for future use etc.
Best regards,
Chris

Your welcome.

Looking at the data sheet a 16F88 minimum supply voltage is 4V.
To me it looks like the chip selector and data sheet are giving conflicting information
Not sure which one to believe?
I have not used a microcontroller at 2V so I can't help any further i'm afraid
You should be looking at the LF (Low power Versions).
Minimum voltage is 2V for 16LF88:

Hi Martin,
I looked up the 16F88 in Microchips' own PIC listings and curiously it also stated 2 to 5.5v and never mentioned the LF version! Did mention two but they were 2 to 5.5v and 2 to 3.6v!
My Adobe reader has a problem so currently can't download the large file data sheets and the scrappy info I already had, didn't show the PIC16LF88 but the LF version is not mentioned in Matrix M's device list so I will check with them to see if feasible.
Presumably and from what you mentioned earlier, I CAN use the 16LF1933 with my FC V4.5 version though!
Cheers,
Chris

If un-installing and reinstalling acrobat reader dos not work, then using Foxit Free reader
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/downloads/
will enable you to open pdf files. I use that reader since it also allows you to add annotations which come it handy.

Yes you can.
If there are any issues with that device then it can be sorted out for you.

Although Flowcode does not explicitly list the "LF" chips, a program generated for the "F" version should work fine on the equivalent "LF" version.

Steve with Flowcode V4.5 shows LF range when choosing target:
Or have I misread your answer?

Ooops! The amount of time I spend with Flowcode, you would think I'd know better.
But I think my original answer stands too - I think the "F" and "LF" varieties are practically identical as far as programming is concerned.

I would agree with that. I beieve the difference is the maximum speed the oscillator runs at.
