Hi
This is my thoughs on your question. Hope it sheds some light on it for you.

With an unlocked phone, you can nomally use any prepay sim card in the phone. (ie network independant)
A no contract phone still uses a prepay sim but they can normally still only use a sim from the supplier network, i.e they are still locked in the same way as a contract phone.
ie my phone is no contract but it is still locked to virgin mobile, i could not use a vodaphone sim for example

My GSM e block is totally unlocked and can use a prepay sim from any network.
Though I dont think it would work say with a contact sim card as these detect the the firmware in the gsm module matchs the network the sim is for.
(Also you could end up with a large bill if you use did find it worked, transmitting data can be expensive)
1 in 10 people understand binary, the other one doesn't !

when you buy a new GSM mobile,it's possible to lock some network provider. So you need to unlock your mobile otherwise you can't use any network provider. But it's not necessary for no contract phone.Cost of the locked gsm phone is cheaper than no contract phone. Here i would suggest locked GSM mobile. If you need unlock code from your mobile visit
unlock-free.com Here they will ask your country, network provider, imei number. After that they will generate your unlock code.So you can easily unlock your mobile within a day.No contract phone or unlock phone is same.So you can put sim card in your GSM mobile.Hope to help you.
