Using Look-up Tables

Post by Docara »

Hi

How do you use look up tables in FC?

Or more specifically get data into memory, according to the 'help' you have to cut and paste values, but what if you wanted to store say 1K of data

Hi Matt,

There shouldn't be a hard limit on the size of the LUT data, so if you want to add 1K values then you can add them all to the text box property. Another way would be to have multiple LUT components if there is a nice way to separate the data.

Hi Ben,

So there is no way to also import values via a file? I think it would nice to have this option if no

Hi Matt,

Yes importing from a file should be fairly simple to do. What sort of format is the file? Can I simply copy the ASCII text from the file to the LUT property? Or is the file in binary format?

Hi Ben,

Thanks for the reply.

My question/point was meant to more of a general point than a specific request. I can't remember specifically which pack I purchased but it had LUT support included, looking through it I was surprised there was no option to import a file, in addition to be able to add a few values by hand.

I would have thought a standard CSV would be sufficient,

Matt
