Injector for GSM component (SOLVED!)

Is there a way to test the GSM component in Flowcode via an injector directly on the PC?
Thanks
Christina

I would like to connect a SIM900 board via a USB to TTL Uart to my PC, and then test some flowcode routines. This is the easier way than writing the program into the PIC and then testing it out. Therefore my question: is there an injector with which this works?

Does nobody have an answer for me?

Sorry, yes, there is a "COM Injector" component that can be attached to the GSM component and do what you require

Thanks for the answer!
I had tried with the COM injector. Either the flowcode crashes or the routine already hangs on the GSM initialise command.
With an ESP8266 or Nextion Display, it works well with the injector, but not with the GSM component.
This is also the reason for my request here.

Hi Christina
I have had a look at the GSM component and do not yet see any reason why it should not work, but I don't at present have any GSM hardware to test.
So, just to confirm, your ESP8266 works via USB virtual COM port to the COM injector with the Flowcode ESP8266 component?
What Windows version is your PC?
Thanks,
Leigh

I am using Windows 7 Pro 64Bit and Flowcode 7.2.1.4
The COM injector with the UART component works very well, even if I control the SIM900 module via UART. Only with the GSM component there is the problem.

Test:
Macro GSM Initialise and SendString without USB-to-UART works
Macro GSM Initialise with USB-to-UART, but without SIM900 does not work, flowcode hangs.
So it does not matter if a GSM board is connected to the USB-to-UART module.

Thanks for the information.
I will look a further into the issue.

Hi Christina,
I've found and fixed some timeout issues with the GSM use of the COM injector.
Please try the attached updated component.
Drop it into your Flowcode installation \Components directory and re-load the project.

Hanging on initialization is now gone, but there is no communication between Flowcode (injector) and the FTDI USB-to-Uart module.
With the UART component, I can see the activities between Flowcode and the hardware on the FTDI Status Leds Receive and Transmit, with the GSM component no activity and also no reaction of the connected SIM900 Board.

That is odd, I got output from my test program, from a USB FTDI, with oscilloscope connected to tx/output pin.
I don't have any hardware to send a reply.
I've attached my simple test program in case the property settings are useful to you.
