Adress slaves in rs232

Hello,
I want to create a rs232 bus system and connect three or more Pic's.
On all Pic's the rx and tx pin i have a SN 75176.
One of the Pic are the master, the other ones are slaves.
I don't understand, how to adress the slaves.
Can anybody help me please and have a flowchart for example,
so i can learn and understand it.
