Program SMD via Eblock programmer

Which pins need I connect when I want to program a SMD version of a PIC via the Eblock Multiprogrammer (EB006-00-7)?

I want to use a SMD version of the 18F2550 in a project.
It seems a good idea to first solder the pic onto the PCB, and then connect certain pins with the Multiprogrammer to program the PIC. For this I need to make a PCB header to connect the ports needed with the programmer.

I found that (RB7/KBI3/PGD) and (RB6/KBI2/PGC) are involved.
Which pins need to be attached to the programmer for this to work?

Any help is welcome...

Hello MJU
Only pins required going from programmer to SMD are: +5V(VDD), 0V (Vss), VPP, PGC & PGD. Two ways I noramly do it.
1)Either single core wire pushed in sockets of programming board,
Or
2) I solder wires on to a separate IC socket, and just plug the socket onto the programming board.

Edit: I remember Benj posting an image of connections from programmer to separate chip via single core wires. Just looking for it.
in the mean time there is this:

Word of warning though. It is stated that if any damage occurs to programmer due to connecting with this method, then warranty would be void.
In saying that, I have not had any issues with this method at all!.

If using this method to program in circuit, don’t forget VPP rises to +13 or so volts and do not connect capacitors between PGC or PGD and VSS (0V)
