After help from DavidA,
Hi Kent,
Could you post this in the Flowcode V4 forum sub section please?
If you need access to the Flowcode v4 forums, you will need your forum account upgrading; the walkthrough is here:
http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/support ... f=29&t=602
It looks like your programmer is linking directly to AVRDUDE than through the batch file like it is supposed to.
Try Clicking the Restore Defaults button throug the Chip >> Configure section on Flowcodes main menu.
I tried to put in the default values and then I get this error, what can be wrong?

It looks to me like the drivers to the programmer are not installed.
If you have windows7, you must always manually install drivers which can be found at:
http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/eblock_ ... .php#EB019
With programmer connected to PC. Open Device Manager. Look for the icon which could be the programmer, probably in the unknown bit. you can confirm by unplugging , and re-plugging programmer in whilst looking to see which Icons change within program manager.
Right click on the offending icon (probably got an exclamation mark), and browse to where the new drives are on your PC.
Not sure if this will help or not?

@Kenta : Please use the quote tab, your post is a bit of a mess and kind of difficult to read, thx

I must say that I cant find any information about how exactly thing must be installed, I have used the programmer with AVR studio and then that works nice so the hardware is working.
Any ideas will help me come closer to the solution i hope.

Not sure if this will help or not?
this is what seems to be a default values:
AVRDUDE %a %t "%D\%f.hex" "%f.hex" %cfg %c0 %c1 %c2 %c3

Re: Newbie no contact with E-block
Hello Kenta,
Have you tried the "Restore Defaults" button on the compiler options window?

yes and this is the default values that I get for the programmer.DavidA wrote:Hello Kenta,

Re: Newbie no contact with E-block
Hello,
Your programmer settings look correct.
What about this line from the output window.
Your programmer settings look correct.
What about this line from the output window.
Is the AVRISP installed on the machine correctly. Eg is it appearing in your PC's device manager correctly.avrdude.exe: usbdev_open(): did not find any USB device "usb"

Yes, I can see it in My device manager under Jungo.Benj wrote:Hello,

Re: Newbie no contact with E-block
Hello,
Sometimes my AVRISP locks up and it cannot be seen by the PC, unplugging it and re-connecting it seems to fix this problem.
I'll ask Sean to have a look at this forum too and see if he can suggest anything.

I have now unistalled everything that can interfer with Flowcode and made a new installation and now is somthing differents from before, I get this error now when the programmer try to program the e-board:
I have check all the conncetions and its looks okay for me, I have green lights form the AVRISP also.
I have also made a manual installation of the AVRISP driver.
What should the version of AVRISP driver be?
LibUSB-Win32 Devices
AVRISP mkII
0.1.12.1
Can this be to any help to find a solution.

Re: Newbie no contact with E-block
The error message indicates that the PC is communicating with the programmer, and that AVRDUDE is receiving appropriate parameters.
The problem seems to be with the target board or device.
This error message is generated if the programmer is not able to establish communications with the target chip for any reason.
Examples:
The target board is not powered (the programmer does not supply power)
The target device has not been inserted correctly in its socket.
The programmer is not connected to the correct programming header (3 options on the EB019 version 2 board).
The programming header is connected the wrong way round (correct orientation indicated by the artwork on an EB019 board).
The target device has been configured for a clock source that is not available (factory default is for internal oscillator which is always available)
The target device is configured for an external clock source that is not running (crystal not fitted correctly).
The problem seems to be with the target board or device.

Re: Newbie no contact with E-block
I have check all connections and that is okay, I have too green leds on the programmer and I can see there is some blinks when I try to program the chip.Sean wrote:The error message indicates that the PC is communicating with the programmer, and that AVRDUDE is receiving appropriate parameters.

How can I see if its for internal or external oscillator, there is a 10Mhz crystal on card and seems to be okay.

Re: Newbie no contact with E-block
If the target chip has not been programmed yet, it should be running from its internal oscillator.
If the chip has been programmed previously, it will be difficult to determine which clock option has been selected as the clock must be present for the device to be read. I have connfirmed that a missing clock source causes the same error message to be returned.
A parallel programmer (like the STK500 board) would be required to recover the device.
The led at the output of the programmer seems to be set to green when the supply voltages are detected correctly, even if no chip is present.
Assuming that the chip is configured for either internal oscillator (factory default), or the correct type of external crystal (fitted), it should be running.
Are you using the E-blocks EB019 as your target board?
Do you have any loads connected to the port pins shared with the programming header (PB5,6,7)?
Can you confirm continuity between the programming header and the pins of the chip (some boards provide isolating jumpers/links).

I have the EB019 board as target board and nothing else connected to the board when programming.
Okay I dont have any STK500 board so I guess its cheaper to buy a new chip instead.
I have found that PIC can be more eysier config directly from flowcode, I have tried to use AVRstudio 4 for to connect to the board without any succes
If I put in a new chip what config parameters should I use for the first programming.
The example Tut01 that came with the program is that code right for a 324P chip.

Re: Newbie no contact with E-block
Is the target chip the one that was supplied with the board?
The EB019 should have been supplied with a 20MHz crystal. If you are using an alternative 10MHz crystal, can you confirm that it has the correct mode of oscillation (as specified in the Atmel data sheet)?
Would you be able to use the supplied 20MHz crystal for testing?
If the crystal has been changed, have any other modifications been carried out?
