I have a big Problem with the USB-Driver

Post by HjH »

I have a big Problem with the USB-Driver.

- My operating system is Windows 7 64bit "Home premium".
- My test board is a "Low Pin Count USB Development Kit" from Microchip.
- I have written a USB progam in Flowcode.
- I transmitted this program in the 18F14K50 controller, without errors
- I start the USB program in the 18F14K50
- I plug in the USB cable in the Low Pin Count USB Development Kit USB plug
- After that an error message will appear on the screen. "driver not found"
- I download the inf - file from the Formular USB component.
- I will install the "mchpcdc, inf". This experiment ends with the error message "The INF file your selected does not support this method of installation"

- With Microchip test program runs the USB serial connection

What I doing wrong

Hello,

Which USB component are you using and are you generating the driver inf file from the USB component property page?

Have you tried going into device manager, selecting the device, clicking install driver and then pointing the wizard at the Flowcode generated inf file?

Hello,

Sorry I'll try to be more clear.

Which Flowcode USB component are you using in your program?

Which version of Flowcode are you using?

Can you attach your Flowcode program to the forums?

Hi

Which Flowcode USB component are you using in your program?
The Flowcode USB component is "Flowcode USB Serial"

Can you attach your Flowcode program to the forums?
I've been told I may not publish my program in the forum.

Hello,

You can attach your program to the forums or you can PM me with it. Either way it should be noted that you are using the v4.5 beta so it will not load on versions of Flowcode before this.

Hello,

Your configuration for the chip was not setup so I have put in the right settings and this should now run correctly on the device. It looks like you will need a fixed crystal frequency of 12MHz to allow the chip to run at the right speed of 48MHz.

Hello HJH,

Is this problem when using HiTech or the new BoostC? You sent Steve a PM which suggests you are using HiTech to do this.

Hello,

I have had a look into this for you and the 0's that appear at the start of the file are NOP instructions. i.e. no operation so it could just be a delay or something similar before the USB starts up. The program stops before address 0xA90 so I am surprised you are getting a write error for this memory location. Could the device perhaps be damaged or are you able to program other hex files on to it ok?
