Flowcode 4.5 & GLCD (EB057)

Post by JohnCrow »

Hi
Im getting strange behavior in simulation with the gLCD
When I load the gLCD (EB057) into FC4.5
I Select the correct glcd in edit properties
Then when I open connections It only shows the chip select line

If I select either of the other 2 older versions, then look in connections both show the full set of lines.

If I load your test program EB057TP and run the simulation, the background goes yellow and the word Matrix prints in the top left corner.
What looks like a blue line is drawn down a part of the left side of the black frame about halfway down. The star is NOT printed.

I had uninstalled FC 4.3 prior to loading 4.5

I have tried uninstalling and reinstall

This also behaves in the same way on 2 different computers.

The glcd did work ok in 4.3 after Id loaded the updated c-file. (I did delete this after uninstalling FC4.3, as it get left behind)

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Hello John,

The gLCD component uses the hardware SPI connections (defined in the target .FCD file) for data transfer when the EB057 option is selected, so does not make them available for selection. The Chip Select connection is not defined, so is available for selection.

The connections and jumper settings are described in the EB057/EB058 data sheet.

A standard PIC16F877A based system requires the EB057/58 board to be connected to Port C, with the jumper set to option B.
The component Chip Select connection should be set to Port C, Pin 0.

We have been able to replicate the problem with the component simulation and will try yo find a solution.

Hi Sean

Thanks for the replay

It was just that when I opened the comp setup in V4.3 I saw 4 lines to select, just seeing only the CS line make me think something was wrong.
At work at the moment so not able to do access my system till tonight
