Re: INTERFACING CCD CAMERA OR WEB CAMERA
Not something I've done anything with personally but I believe it can be done
For exampel some very cheap ccd devices here

Maybe someone like Sparkfun electonics

Re: INTERFACING CCD CAMERA OR WEB CAMERA
The CCD cameras you'll find in John's link communicate through some data transfer protocol such as RS232 or I²C, so it's very plausible you can interface it with a 16F877A.

Re: Interfacing CCD Camera or Web Camera
Hello,
We have been doing some work here on the 4D serial camera. Unfortunately the module got damaged due to over voltage on the prototype so our work on this is currently on hold but we hope to be able to offer something along these lines fairly shortly.

Re: Interfacing CCD Camera or Web Camera
I've also looked into using USBotg in the PIC24 devices to interface to a web camera using the new USB camera standard. This seems possible but so far I have not had the time to look into this properly.

Re: Interfacing CCD Camera or Web Camera
Hi
Sorry, Ive not done anything with pics and video cams myself. It is something I would like to look at sometime.
Bert van Dam's 50 Pic Microcontroller Projects book (this is the second one) has projects using the CMU cam.
These are more aimed at detecting objects or colours, than displaying video images.
His books mainly use the JAL language (except the flowcode one stocked my Matrix), though they do have interesting projects in them
Personally I would suspect to do anything apart from very simple detection, It will be nessesary to use at least a 16bit device.
Some of the devices in the link I sent do have an I2C interface, or as Benj posted on earlier, the USB connection on some of the more advanced devices.
