Unable to use ANY of the 16LF devices listed!

Post by christoph »

Hi Matrix Multimedia team, (or anyone who could help)

I have purchased PIC16LF1933 devices for use on my HP488-00-3 Development Board but when I select it (manually or auto-detect/PPPv3 or Flowcode - except at new flowchart stage).
I get these messages: "Could not find start or end address in PIC16LF1933". "Programming failed: PIC section not ound:[PIC16LF1933]". "Unrecognised chip on command line". "PICmicro identification failed". In PPPv3 I get: "PICmicro not found from ID 0x2404".

Basically it doesn't seem to recognise the chip although the Flowcode (v4.5) professional simulation works fine and it compiles to 'c' and 'hex' fine but obviously can't programme the chip 'cos not recognised.

I then checked the other '16LF's and find the same message(s) for all of them. They are all listed as useable devices in the Flowcode pull-downs.

Need some feedback urgently, as I have bought a number of these devices and I need the low supply voltage they offer.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

The version of PPP that is with Flowcode v4.5 does not support these LF devices. Flowcode V5 does have full support for these.

One way around this is to 'pretend' that the chip you are using is the "F" variety - i.e. select the 16F1933 device in Flowcode and PPP. The configuration options should be the same for these devices and they should use the same programming procedure.

If this does not work, please let us know.

Hi Steve,

Many thanks - it programmes OK now and I will try the programmed chip in-circuuit this afternoon.

Could you possibly take a quick look at my posting (about 10 down on the forum) about using a 20-pin device on the development board??

Best regards,

Chris :D
