Which PIC would you recommend for this application?

Post by cell85 »

Hi,

I want to build up a small control for 4 to 6 pumps with my flowcode for pic. Which PIC would you prefer/recommend ?
My requirements:

- LCD or gLCD
- 8x GPIO's for LED's and Buttons
- 2x Serial Interface for RS485 (modbus) and PC communication
- 1x SD-Card or microSD Card for storing configuration data
- 18x GPIO's for inputs /outputs
- 3x ADC inputs for connection 4-20mA sensors

optional / nice to have: RTC, CAN, USB, 2 PWM outputs or DAC

please help.

Kind regards,
Sven

Hi Sven,
This is a good first place to start:
http://www.microchip.com/stellent/idcpl ... e=en544123

Top product selector is very handy for narrowing down which microcontroller to use.

Before ordering selected target device, Create a test flowchart first so you know your device is supported.
Nothing worse than receiving a device and go to use Flowcode, and unable to select microcontroller.

You will also need to take in account some devices will only work with HiTec compiler and not the default BoostC compiler.
Page 13 of Flowcode datasheet:
http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/resourc ... klet-2.pdf
lists supported devices.
