PROFINET

Post by Mantas »

Hello to everyone,

I just recently encountered PROFINET for automation driven systems of BLDC servo motors. So I was wondering, is there a possibility to make a PROFINET servo controller using matrix products? Maybe someone already has some expertise in PROFINET? :) And also CANopen network. Is it possible to communicate with external PLC's using CAN e-blocks, and FC macros?

Best regards,
Mantas

Hi Mantas,

you could write the BLDC software in flowcode and and communicate to a serial profinet module via UART (HMS Anybus Profinet module, etc.).

[Motor] <---> your boards <--uart--> profinet module <--profinet--> PLC
regards

Hi cell85,

That is really promising info, could you give any references to Serial Profinet modules? Maybe you used some and could recommend?

Cheers,
Mantas

at work we have had the following working with flowcode V4 and can EBlock

(all though i didn't personally do the programming but have seen it working )

exactly. It costs around 3xx€ , they also have an embedded module in DIL for the half. It works very good and the support is very helpy.

Hello everyone. Thanks for your replies. I have a very short deadline (about a 1.5 month), in which I have to figure out how to connect my arm controller to the motor. The controller calculates a certain angle. The setup is BLDC ---> planetary GB ----> slewing gear. So the goal is to turn the slewing gear the calculated angle. I have an option to choose from slewing gear manufacturer which motor I prefer. PROFINET or CANopen:

http://www.dunkermotoren.com/default.as ... =48&lang=2
http://www.dunkermotoren.com/default.as ... 154&lang=2

the motor setup is:

DC motor:
brand: Dunkermotoren
motor type: BG75x25 0.25 kW
Brushless
type of control: CAN open, profibus, ether cat I/Os
encoder resolution: 4096 ppr (360° /4096=0.0879 ° angle resolution for each position)
Voltage(V): 24
IP= IP 65
GEARBOX: PLG75
gear ratio: 1/362.5

Any ideas which would be the simplest one and cheapest one to implement? Personally I feel that CANopen with EB018 eblock should be the simplest to implement... :?:

Hello,

I just noticed that EB018 board manual says that "This board is not compatible with 3.3V systems", but in FC ARM CAN component Help file EB018 board is mentioned, and MCP2515 datasheet says that it operates from 2.7V – 5.5V. What does this mean? Need some clarification...
