Synchronize step 0 with the PWM

Post by josem-mp »

Hi all,
I'm doing a speed controller for a 2000w motor with PIC16F1824 using the PWM output.
Someone can tell me how sync step 0 feeding signal to the PWM output signal.

thanks

Hi josem
Can you expand on what you require as it makes it easier for others to advise on what you need

Hi, I want to control the motor speed as a function of a signal from a potentiometer.
The PWM output of an optocoupler micro attacks controlling a triac which is responsible for varying the motor speed.
I'm detecting zero crossing taking after the bridge rectifier and taking it to the micro.
I need to synchronize the crossing 0 with the PWM.
This is the wiring diagram of test.

Hi Josem
I would change the opto isolator for one with an inbuilt ZCD circuit, as this will switch on when it detects the crossing point (thats what i used ages ago), but as you are using AC please read all the relevant datasheets etc as this post is only a suggestion subject to you reading all the relevant data etc. also try some searches on here using the terms triac or opto as i recall a few different posts on the subject
