chip configuration

Post by JustinS »

Hi
I am a beginner and have some questions.
1 In FLOWCODE 5.5 I can not find the "chip configuration". How do I enter the parameters. I want to program a PIC16F1827 to work with the internal generator?
2 I PICkit3 programmer can read and write data to a PIC16F1827 using software PICkit3. I can not program directly from FLOWCODE 5.5.
Please help

Hello,

Configuration settings are placed in Build -> Project Options -> Configuration

You can setup the PICkit 3 to be your default programmer by following the instructions here.

In version 5.5 can not be given the configuration parameters.
It is only possible to enter the code "CONFIG DATA". But I do not know how he should begin with be. I saw in a previous version of the window with the parameters of the processor. Now, there is nothing

Hi Justin,
To enable Config drop down settings:

Goto 'Build','Compiler options'
Select 'Programmer' Tab

Make sure you have 'Use external program to set config options' ticked.
Select OK.

If you have PPPv3.exe in the Location window e.g
C:\Program Files (x86)\Flowcode\v5\Tools\PPP\PPPv3.exe for 64 bit win
or
C:\Program Files\Flowcode\v5\Tools\PPP\PPPv3.exe for 32 bit win
Then you should have configuration options back.

An alternative way, and perhaps the quickest is just select Default in the Options List: Drop down box after selecting Build','Compiler options'

Thank you for the quick reply.
I have turned off the "Use external program is set config options 'ticked'. Now I pointed - ON and Config Configuration -that is working.
Thank you.
But the FLOWCODE software thrue PICkit3 still is not working
When I can send hex from PICkit3 to the PIC (16f1827) and it works OK.
I do not know if it matters - I use PICkit3 (Beta Relase 0.3.3.0)
When I want to send hex directly to PICkit3 I get the message.
"Launching the programmer ...
C: \ Program Files \ Flowcode \ v5 \ Tools \ PICkit3 \ PK3CMD.exe-P16F1827-FT2PIC16F1827.hex-E-M
Return code = -1073741515
Flowcode was unable to transfer the flowchart to the microcontroller. Check the programmer options and physical connections. "

I do not know whether this is relevant? Because I work usually on LINUX. FLOWCODE was installed on a Windows 7 virtual machine (VMware)
