Post by kon44 »

hi all
I recently bought FC6 and eb006 v9
I made a simpler test program and to compile and when compile to chip 18f25k80 occur this error:

MLOADER error
Unknown chip type in data file
Version: 3.0.1
Board Type: EB006 v9
IsOpen : no
ID from Board: -1
Chip CmdLine: 18F25K80
USB Hardware: USB\VID_12BF&PID_0021&REV_0000
USB Description: Dispositivo WinUsb
ADCval: 0.000000
Location: ParseCsvFile.cpp @ 353 (ParseCsvFile::FindCorrectChip

I tested several chips and verified the configuration

Hello Conrad,

We don't support programming the chip directly using our hardware but you can use the EB006 v9 with the k80 device if you use a PICkit 3 connected to the ICSP header on the board and the USB/ICSP jumper in the ICSP setting.

You will then need to use MPLAB or the PICkit 3 software to transfer your program to the device. You can setup the PICkit for use with Flowcode but it might also not support the K80 device.

Information on how to setup PICkit with Flowcode is available here: http://www.flowcode.co.uk/wiki/index.php ... ming_Tools

hi Benj thanks for your reply but I do not have pickit3
True, MLOADER not support K80, I've seen
Looking PPPV3 if I saw that is listed k80, but another problem appears:

fc6 + PPPV3 + EB006 v7, conect ok but it does not recognize K80 (Vpp can be?)
fc6 + PPPv3 + EB006 v9, says that the USB cable is not connected !!

Tested configurations and drivers ... ok ?????
you're Planning to update some MLOADER for k80 ?

regards

Hi Conrad,

PPP is not only a programming tool but also a config tool. The support in PPP for the K80 device is for config only. We have tried to get PPP to work with these devices in the past but after literally weeks of work we had to give up on it because it just didn't seem to want to play and frankly we weren't going to make any extra money from supporting the chip.

EB006v9 only works with mLoader which is why PPP is reporting USB cable not connected.

You could likely get a PICkit 3 from eBay for around £10 so this would be my advise on how to proceed.
