Macro with a return string up to 250 characters

Post by tiny »

Is it possible to create a macro with a return string up to 250 characters?
This function would be very important!

Hi Christina,

Yes this is possible, there is no hard limit on the size of the string returned from a macro.

Unless your using an 8-bit PIC which may struggle with a single string larger than 256 bytes. In this case I believe the compiler should work around the problem for you so you don't have to.

Hmm just tried this and it seems the simulation is hitting a limitation. The embedded code should be fine.

Investigating this now.

Thanks Ben for the quick reply.
I use the ECIO40P16, do not know whether it only occurs in the simulation. In my program I use for passing global variables since I had in the simulation of this problem.
Only 20 characters are possible in the Simulation.
