Hi
The component defaults to hardware mode in FC5, only Chip Select is needed.

If you want to set the other lines yourself you can select software mode
Right click on the FAT component on the panel
Select External Properties / Apply / OK

Then go to connections and all 4 lines will be available.
1 in 10 people understand binary, the other one doesn't !

Hello,

Please could you attach your program so we can see your software connections. It could be that you are using a pin with reduced functionality or it could be down to a timing issue.

Hello,

What is happening when you run the program? Have you tried switching the Datain and DataOut connections to ensure you have these wired correctly.

Looks like it should be working to me.

Sir,

In the first while loop, init_FAT(), always returns 0xFF in SW mode design (code i sent you). I have few questions:
1. Is their any guidelines to choose the GPIO pins for this purpose. I have chosen Port B (0,1,2,3). Is it OK, any need for pull-up or others required on this line?
2. Is their any chance the voltage on these lines fluctuate during SD card operation, that might cause this problem?
3. Did you check the same design code in your environment any time, is it worked for you?

Important Note: The same design with HW SPI configuration works fine with few other issues, but in this SW mode case, it's not even gets initialized! That's what i am surprised & clueless.
Please suggest.
