I'm looking in to developing a USB interface for an existing project that I have developed with Flowcode.
The USB slave component seems to be ideal for what I want to do, but I have some questions:
1. I'm in the process of educating myself about the HID, Audio, Mass Storage and Printer, etc. classes for USB. Where does the USB Slave fit into the "class" scheme? Is it a non-standard function that does not fit into a standard USB class?
2. I'm pretty comfortable writing Java code and would prefer to develop the GUI for my project using the javax.swing package. I see that the Flowcode examples are written in VB which I am not well versed in at all. There is a Java API, javahidapi that I'm trying to learn more about and was wondering if it is possible to "mesh" the Flowcode USB Slave component to Java code using javahidapi or some other API? Are there any Java code examples using the Flowcode USB Slave component?
3. Is there any cross-platform comparability for the USB slave component besides Windows?

Re: USB Slave Component Questions
1) USB slave is low level communication. Is is just an endpoint, not a class.
2) The Java API you are referring to is called javaHIDapi, so it interfaces with HID devices. You could probably use the USB HID component if you want to use this library.
3) You'll find a Linux example here. I think it can be made to work for OSX as well, but haven't tried.
