I2C LCD Display ST7032i - Help Please

Post by Brendan »

I'm trying to drive a Sitronix ST7032i-based 16x2 display.

I2C is not a problem, but navigating the ST7032i chip manual is not the easiest without prior familiarity. I'm clearly missing something

If there's anyone here familiar with driving this or compatible I2C display, who can supply just basic example Flowcode (e.g. initialise + 'Hello World' type of thing)to get me off the ground, I'd be eternally grateful. Sadly I don't have a choice with this one as I'm trying to code a basic test solution for a product designed with it :?

Believing that I had it all in-hand I'm still unable to yield a display (only veeeery slight changes in the light background contrast in response to I2C instructions, so I'm addressing the chip sure enough). Having initialised the display, spent an age trying to send characters only to discover I hadn't changed 'instruction tables' with an innocuous little 0x38, and still getting the same result, I'd be very grateful for a basic example that I can build on.

Thank you in advance,

Brendan

This has now been resolved and the display now working :D
A data header byte was an incorrect value

Thanks to everyone for your time to review my original request.

All the best,

Brendan
