PROGRAM WORKS after few days it stops

Post by Tony »

Could you please share some finer points – like what could be wrong when a program runs perfect in simulation and it can be programmed in a chip and the board function works fine
and after few days if you re program the chip – the board hardware functionality is not working – WHERE IS THE MISTAKE – Is there any means I am damaging the chip – if yes, a fresh chip is also not working.

The above episode is not with single program it is happening with all program

Hi
It sounds like the configs aren't being programmed, read a non working chip with your programmer and see if the programmed config is the same as what it should be

No, we tried that too - we configured the chip to actual # and tried

Hi Tony,

Is any of your circuitry getting warm? Be careful when checking. Could be the voltage regulator or other components such as capacitors not being able to cope long term. Cheap electrolytic caps are a common cause of failure in off the shelf products.

If nothing is getting warm then is there a possibility of static discharge etc, is the grounding of your circuitry ok to try and minimise this problem.

Are all the power pins of the chip connected correctly?
Is the chip maybe trying to source or sink too much current? (see the electrical characteristics section in the device datasheet for specifics).
Is the chip fighting itself or anything else e.g. pin connected to ground but trying to output a logic 1 or visa versa.
