Arduino Ethernet Shield this mysterious object

Post by bigcheese1960 »

Hello everyone,
this is the first time I write on this forum, I ask your help because at this point I think I'm stupid and frustrated, it will be because I am old ?! :-))

Basically I can not make even a ping to the Arduino + Ethernet shield with FC 6. The frustration increases when I read that other forum members are able to connect with the web browser to the Ethernet Shield.

I have already created some projects with FC but they were static projects without any internet connection, and now I wanted to do a little practice using the Arduino Etnernet, but I really can not see the web page with my browser and obviously even pinging to the card.

I think I'm doing a stupid mistake but do not know where I'm wrong. If I do not understand how FC works with Arduino Ethernet Shield I can not get on with other projects that need to connect via web

I'm analyzing the example "Simple Webserver_v6.fcfx", also many others examples downloaded from this forum, but absolutely nothing to do!

The strange thing is that I do not receive any error by the compiler, and even when the file is loaded into the Arduino board.

Please help me to understand! My doubt is that perhaps FC should not be used with Arduino Ethernet shield? I do not believe! I need one working example in order to handle some switches sensor via web browser.

Thank You for your help!!

Hi Bigcheese,

Do you mean that you use the Flowcode macro for the webserver with an Arduino shield?
Is the macro written for the Arduino shield you use or is it the standard web-macro in Flowcode?

Please keep in mind that the macro's that are used in Flowcode are written for a certain piece of hardware.
In the case of the webserver macro, it is written for the Ethernet Eblock and can not be used for another piece of hardware.

You could ask help in the user component section of this forum.
Maybe someone has already written a macro for this piece of hardware?

Hello MJU,
thanks for having taken into account !!
I do not know very well the C language, in fact I use FC because it is more easy to do projects.
However, I must tell you that I was able to work with Arduino + Arduino Ethernet Shield and I can see the HTML page online but with a problem.

The problem, I hope that you or other friends can help me to solve it, is that the HTML page does not display the sensor values, I think it's a problem of HTML codes.
I enclose the project so that you can evaluate it.

If you can open the file with FC6 you have to pay attention to the connection ports of the component webserver, which must be connected as follows:
MISO port B4
MOSI port B3
CK port B5
CS port B2
INT port B0
Excuse me if I allowed myself to warn you, surely you know better than me where the webserver component is connected .

I would also like to add the ability to send an email in case of alarm, but I would not know how to do, you can give me some ideas?
Thank you again for your help
Ciao
Alfonso

Hello,

I'm sorry I just wanted to "bump" your post.

I used the ethernet Eblock in the past but recently I haven't got much time to work with Flowcode.
I've had my own problems that didn't got solved on the forum so I thought I'd reply to yours.

People @sales @matrix point people to this forum, but lately there isn't much response for certain questions.
