Conflicting Licence information.

Post by medelec35 »

I have the Pro version. In Version summary (page 11 of Getting Started guide shipped with CD): Licence for commercial use = Y
However when viewing asm file after Flowchart has been compiled, the following is shown:
;/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
;// Code Generator: BoostC Compiler - http://www.sourceboost.com
;// Version : 6.95
;// License Type : Full License
;// Limitations : PIC12,PIC16 max code size:Unlimited, max RAM banks:Unlimited, Non commercial use only
;/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I was curious to know why 'Non commercial use only' is stated?

Does this mean we can't use it for commercial use, or we can?

I think this is a problem that existed with V3 also. I have created an entry on our FAQ site:
http://matrixmultimedia.com/support/vie ... =1184#1184

The attachment contains a registry fix that should help.

Thanks Steve.
Unfortunately after fix, rebooting etc. still same message.
It does not appear to affect the generated hex files. As far as I am aware there are no limitations since code is generated for PWM functions.
To be honest, I'm more curious than bothered. If it’s sorted then fine, if not still fine 8)

If you can live with the message, then there is no problem. There will be no difference in the generated code.

It looks like the licence for the BoostC compiler is not being applied correctly. Setting this registry key to zero should force Flowcode to re-apply the key.
