ECIO cannot be installed.

Post by achillis1 »

Hello,

I have two ECIO 40P and I was working with one of them some days ago and it was working fine. Today I am trying to connect the other one and the operating system could not install the new hardware! I tried to install again the drivers but again nothing happend. Then while the ECIO was connected on my laptop I pushed for more than 5 seconds the reset button. After that the ECIO just keep blinking and nothing happens. I would have tried to connect the other ECIO to see what happens but I have sent it to my programmer to test it with some software I am developing.
Have you got any ideas?

Thank you in advance,
Best Regards,
Achillis

Have you tried to restart your PC? Or tried it on a different PC?

Also, is the ECIO module showing in the "device manager" page of Windows. If it is, you might be able to "remove" the ECIO device (i.e. uninstall its drivers) and start the installation process again.

Also, there are a number of 3rd party driver installation helpers that might help fix this problem. One that I have heard of is "chilli driver" or something similar (but I have never tried it, so I don't know if it works or not).

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I have restarted my PC several times but nithing happended(yesterday). Today I did the same procedures as yesterday and the ECIO has been installed correctly!!!
But something else now has been appeared. When I connect the ECIO to my pC then it flashes for a 3 or 4 seconds and then it is OK. When I try to compile and send the program to the ECIO then two different events will occur: A: The program will compile and successfully transferred to the ECIO; but the ECIO's LED will infinitely keep flashing.
B: the software while compiling to show the following error and the ECIO's LED again infinitely fashing:

Other users have had this problem before. If you search the forums for "overlapped" you will get the following links which should help you solve your problem:

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.
I have uninstalled and installed again the drivers. I think that at some point I installed the "old" ECIO drivers, I do not know if that could cause the problem.
Nevertheless, last time I installed the drivers and connected my laptop to power(maybe the ECIO could not drain much power from laptop's USB-due to the fact it was running on battery) the ECIO was successfully installed!!!
Thank you,

Best Regards,
Achillis.
