ICD system and Flowcode 4

Post by Walbeek »

Hi there,

I have a little testprogram with a blinking LED on pin A0 of a 16F88.
This is in the EB006 programmer and works correctly.
On the EB600, J29 is on PSU, a mains adapter is connected.
J12,13,14 are set to USB and the LVP jumper is set to I/O port.

I have just received a Flowkit ICD, the adapter is connected to port B.
On the pinheader the flatcable is connected to the ICD connector on the main board.
The large switch is on ICD and the USB cable connects USB IN with the computer.
In the project options screen, I have selected ICD Mode

When running the program I get a messagebox with the text:

"ICD has failed to communicate with the target"

"Make sure the target is connected to the ICD tool and powered"
"correctly, then reset it and try again"

"Do you want more information?"

When I click YES, another message appears:

"First line is what it should be"
And than a lot of numbers.

After that, the program stops on the computer.
The E-blocks keep running.

I have checked the trouble shooting tips but no result.
Does anybody knows what I´m doing wrong?

Rinie

hello Walbeek.
Have you checked drivers are installed correctly?
In device manager, check you have Custom USB devices showing Martix Flowkit. See pic here:

Also you have to make sure that target speed of chip is correct. Is A0 toggling at correct speed?
Are you using internal OSC or external osc?
