GSM Macro Help File

Post by JohnCrow »

Hi
Just been testing my new GSM board, which Im am very impressed with.
Got a couple of projects in mind for it (Watch this space 8) )

Done some basic tx & rx tests with it and not found any problems so far with flowcode 4.5s macro.
Have noticed a couple of very minor errors in the help file though.

There is no help for the check signal strength. I assume it returns a value depending on how strong a signal is received (Im getting 2). What range of values is returned?

The flowcode macro is called Get TXT String, while the entry in the help is Get TXT Message.

Thanks

Hi John

What GSM module are you using if it is a Telit module, I may be able to help, as I have used these modules in some of my other projects, where the signal strength is the RSSI line, Matrix may be just taking this and showing the signal as a 1 to 5 bar indication, as that is what I did, but that was using the dsPIC30F6014, if you need any source code let me know.

Or what I have just said might be me barking up the wrong street, and may be of no use at all.

Thanks

Gary

Hi Gary
Yes, the E-Block does use a Telit module.
The flowcode macto returns a value, but I wanted to know what range it should return.

Hi John

Sorry that looks like it will be one for the Matrix guy's, as that is FC4 stuff, and still trying to get my gps time to work, still I will get there.

Sorry I could not help.

Gary
