Re: ICD Mode
Hello
Currently the ICD mode only works with our EB006 V7 Multiprogrammer hardware. If you do not have this hardware then you can disable ICD mode to regain the normal Flowcode simulation.
If you want to store EEPROM data into your program so it is programmed into the device then this is possible using Flowcode. Let me know.

Re: ICD Mode
Hello Benj
Can i connect the EB006 V7 to my pic-controler for programming and ICD mode? (the pic is not on the EB006V7)
For the eeprom , i mean "preserve device EEPROM data on write".

Re: ICD Mode
Hello Wolfgang
Yes you can connect the EB006 V7 to your external device and allow it to be programmed and use the ICD.
To do this you will have to make a programming cable. This cable should be around 15cm max to allow the programming and ICD to work correctly.

Re: ICD Mode
Hello Wolfgang
Do you want to retain the EEPROM data on the device or specify the EEPROM data so it is always correct when you program the devices?
If you want to retain the EEPROM data then you can go into Chip -> Configure -> Options -> and then untick the box "Erase PICmicro before programming"
If you want to embed EEPROM data into your program then you can do this using the definitions portion of the supplementary code window.
This would assign location 0 with 255. location 1 with 0 and location 2 with 0

Re: ICD Mode
Hello Wolfgang
Please try this, it should leave the EEPROM data intact and only update the program memory.
-BC:\Program Files\Matrix Multimedia\Flowcode V4\Tools\PICkit2\ -PPIC%p -F%f.hex -M -A5 -R -MP
If you are updating the device configuration settings then you will need to use this instead.
-BC:\Program Files\Matrix Multimedia\Flowcode V4\Tools\PICkit2\ -PPIC%p -F%f.hex -M -A5 -R -MC
For more information please refer to the readme file located in the "Flowcode V4/Tools/PICkit2" directory.

Re: ICD Mode
You cannot "pre-install" these drivers in Windows 7. Instead, you need to put the Flowcode (or "ELSAM") CD in the drive when the "New Hardware Wizard" appears and then follow the on-screen instructions.
If this wizard fails to launch when you connect the hardware, you should find it in "Device Manager" and select the "reinstall driver" option.

Re: ICD Mode
Hello Wolfgang
Please refer to this getting started guide for help getting up and running with the ICD.
http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/softwar ... _Guide.pdf
Note that there is a small problem if you are using the internal oscillator which will cause the ICD to fail.

Re: ICD Mode
Hello
I have the same problem than Wolfgang.
I am using an EB006 V7 card : with a PIC16F88 it works correctly (LVP program, with ICD mode or not), but with a PIC18F4455 the normal mode (LVP program and no ICD) works and the ICD mode refuses to work.
Nota : I use a 18F4455 to test programs originally for ECIO40.
I attach a very simple example that does not work
Thanks for your help
PS : it's important to use the USB cable supplied with the EB006 card : I have lost a lot of time with a cable with an unknown origin

Re: ICD Mode
The ECIO module and the 18F4455 chip have different defaults for the pins used for the ICD function. So it's important to ensure that the correct ICD pins are being used by your hardware setup. You must also make sure that these pins are not being used by any other part of your program.
Another thing to try is to increase the value of the "ICD communication speed" in the "project options" page to around 50.

Re: ICD Mode
Hello Steve
I know the difference between the PIC18F4455 mounted on ECIO40 and the PIC18F4455 40 pins DIL which I have placed on the EB006, so I have configured RB6 and RB7 for the ICD mode with EB006.
I have tested all the speeds available in ICD mode (with compilation and transfert of the program at each time) : the communication always refuses to work (Message : ICD has failed to communicate to the target...)
Can you verify, in my precedent attached file, if the configuration parameters of the PIC seem correct for you ?
Thanks
Regards

Re: ICD Mode
I've had a look and it could be the "CPU Sys CLK Select" - you should try this with "no divide" instead. Also, what is your crystal value?
I can also see that your clock speed setting in the project options page is wrong.
What you need to do first is to get a simple LED flasher working at the correct rate with ICD mode OFF. This will give you confidence that the clock speed settings are appropriate for you.

Re: ICD Mode
Hello Steve
I use a new EB006 V7 card, on which I have just replaced the PIC16F88 by a PIC18F4455. The crystal is the original piece (19,66MHz), the selector is on XTAL.
With the ICD mode off, the rate of the flash seems correct (approximately 0,5Hz).
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
