Hi!
Why is 'some of the component from the comp. Lib. only dedicated 2D and other 3D in FC9 you could self decide? personally I prefer 2D.

Re: 2D vs 3D Dashboard
The 2D and 3D panels now use different technologies to draw the components. In older versions of Flowcode (v6 - v8), all the drawing was done using OpenGL (which is 3D), even for the old 2D panel.
In v9 we allowed the old 2D "dashboard" panel to use a mix of 2D and 3D technologies, but there were drawbacks to this approach. So in v10 we now have separate 2D and 3D panels. And components now are either 2D or 3D depending on which panel they are intended for.
V10 defaults to use the 2D panel(s) and we think this is easier to use for most applications. But if you want components and simulation in a 3D environment then the 3D panel is still an option.
As a small aside, the old 2D "dashboard" panel does still exist in v10, but it is normally hidden. We have kept it so that older v9 projects will open and work in v10 (and it has been renamed to the "legacy 2D panel"). We don't suggest using it for new projects.
