Pic18f4525 & Ii9341 Advice!

Post by jgu1 »

Hi!

I am trying to test the speed on some device with Ili9341, and as here a Pic18f4525. Work fine, and nice with the new possibilities with font :D

But it is a little slow and wish to find a device wich can speed it up  My question:

1. Have I set the config for max speed ?
2. I see it is possible to use 40mHz xtal at the Pic184525, if I buy one and use 40mHz, will this speed up? ( a lot ).
3. Alternativ, use another device which one should I choose? Prefer leaded.
4. I have made a test with a NucleoF410 wich is the fastest., but to big to build in my box.
5. Will a parallel display be faster and does it work in FC9?
I have tryed with the ESP32, but it will not work.

Lot of question, hope some have a hint. Please.

And happy New year!

Br Jorgen.

Hi Jorgen,

Use a PIC18F45K22 or K80 these devices run at 64 Mhz (16Mhz XT and 4 x PLL = 64Mhz)or similar PIC26K22 or K80 which is the 28 pin package
if you really want to use GLCD etc then use a PIC24 series running at 140Mhz they are available in very small packages
:D
