Hi
Could you please suggested the best 'PC system configuration' for faster simulation of Flowcode

thanks

Flowcode has fairly low requirements to run, but things that should improve its operating speed are more memory and a faster processor.

For speed of simulation specifically, then this can probably be improved by making your project's code more efficient or identifying specific component macros that appear to be taking too long to execute.

Hi Steve
Thank you for the detailed reply.

FC simulation is quite convenient.

However I am curious to know, apart from more memory and a faster processor, will hardware like graphics card can help in speeding up the program loading and simulation. ( particularly when program becomes quite big.)

I don't know if a graphics card will help significantly with the speed. But it might. Other users may know better.

Although it doesn't help with simulation speed, I find having a large monitor and/or a multi-monitor setup very useful.

Hi S_V

I don't use the simulation but I can share you my experience about my computers.
My first computer with FC5 was a Intel Q9550 with 8GB of RAM, under XP Pro, work fine with a project around 200 macros and 4 MB file size.
I changed this machine with a LANNER J1900 under Seven Pro 64, because it's a perfect quiet computer. Less fast with the compiler but no problem with the Flowcode environment, always fast to load the project with around 200 macros.

I installed FC10 on a small I3 Shuttle DS57U with only 4GB of RAM, work fine with my first project. I will transfer my FC5 embedded project to FC10 soon. But I don't think have problem about the performs. In fact Flowcode is not a gourmand software.

With a I5 and 8GB of RAM you have probably a perfect computer to use Flowcode and obtain a fast response of the compiler.

Hi
I will transfer my FC5 embedded project to FC10 soon
As you may already know, to do this you will need to transition via Flowcode v7. Open v5 in v7 then save. If you don't already have a copy of v7 then someone will happily assist.

Regards

Hi chipfryer27,

Thank you for your advice.

I think transfer my project and my customised components, macro per macro with the import / export function. I hope it will work.

Maybe Flowcode Team have a software named "moulinette" in French. If not, it's also a good idea for the next update of Flowcode. Also, it can be a tool sold as an optional component of Flowcode.

After more working with the FC10, my big embedded project work always fine with my i3 G5 5005U and 4GB Ram. But the FC10 PC App Designer have now need more power.

My PC App project is now about 3.5 MB with 3 * 1080p panels and two small panels. I have many buttons and FC 10 Pc App Designer start and work slowly. I wait i9 9700 with 16GB Ram to work with FC10 Pc App.
