Flowcode v10 Levelshifter!

Post by jgu1 »

Hi all!

Martin (medelec) have made a very good leveshifter, 5,0V to 3,3V for display´s ect.
I think it is a brilliant way to do this, with Schottky diode and 10k resistor.
Need to be shared. :D
Easy and cheap. Hope it is ok without Martins permission, to share here in Tips. ;)

Thank you Jorgen,
that is an excellent idea to place it in tips and tricks.
I don't mind you sharing it all.
The issue I spotted is I did not connect the GNDs together.
As the level shifter works on both 3v3 and 5V data pins, if it was me I would keep the level shifter hardwired all the time for the display.
Then does not matter which target device the display is connected to, so long as you can supply the level shifter with 3v3.
It should be noted with and without level shifter connected to esp32 the maximum SPI speed for gLCD's I found to be 32MHz.
at that speed, everting loads up so quicky compared to other target devices.
