Hi
Found the minipad thingy. Took forever to find a charging lead though....
Not sure how good this will work out. It has probably sat in a drawer unused for over a decade so the chances of me remembering passwords / recovery are not high. I think but don't quote me that I was forced to use some apple address when registering so that has probably been deleted through lack of use.
I know that support is long gone and I'm told that if you take one to apple for whatever, they only offer you a trivial discount against a new version. Wow... hold me back.....not.
Other than running FileMaker, I never found a use for it as nothing else that I wanted would run on it. Well SonoS did but it was a pain as every time (or so it seemed) I wanted to use it I had to update something and that meant all sorts of security hassles. Too much bother for so little worth.
If I manage to open it up I'll let you know.
Regards

Re: Flowcode Developer's web export question re IOS Safari browser display
Hi
I have to admit being somewhat surprised that I managed to get in. It came up with requests for all sorts of passwords / login to "whatever (cr)apple service" that I ignored and so far so good.
I opened up Safari and pointed it to my web address that serves time in a json format If you are not decoding then a browser will just show the string, but if you use FC to look at the web address and decode the string it gives much more meaningful replies.
It grabbed the string without issue.
I'm leaving it to do nothing but charge overnight as the charger it is in is underpowered and struggles to both charge and use.
I will perhaps create a FC "app" to grab time from my server and display it nicely. I can test in Windows and android browsers easily, then can probably email it to the why?pad to see how it fairs there.
Regards

Re: Flowcode Developer's web export question re IOS Safari browser display
That's promising. Can you also transfer the HTML file from this thread (both mine and the newer one from Steve) and open them up on Safari?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Flowcode Developer's web export question re IOS Safari browser display
Hi
Fully charged.
I will need to sort out the email accounts as there appears to be some issue with the ones on it. They are not connecting. I'm just heading out now so I will look into it later today and once resolved I'll report back. I'm not expecting too much trouble, I probably changed passwords or actually deleted accounts from the mail server or such like.
Well when I say not expecting much trouble it is an apple.....
Regards

Re: Flowcode Developer's web export question re IOS Safari browser display
Hi
I'd forgotten just how unfriendly and troublesome these can be and it is little wonder it has been in a drawer for so long. Eventually got both the above files downloaded on the stupid machine but could I find them? Of course not..... that would be a useful feature....
Ages later with the help of a file manager I had downloaded years ago I located them and there was a safari icon associated with them.
They both opened up but the gauges and graph did not appear, just buttons (functional). I have no idea if it does screenshots or not but I attached a photo of the screen.
I tried to download different browsers but app store tells me pretty much everything in the entire universe won't run on this. Even Classilla threw a wobbly but did tell me to try later....
As per an above post, I would need to plug the useless crapple device into a Mac to run web developer etc and whom in their right mind thought that would be a great idea?
If you are running a more modern OS than 9.3.6 then you could try downloading Firefox, Chrome or any of the alternatives to Safari that are out there to see if they work. That is about the best I can guess at present.

Re: Flowcode Developer's web export question re IOS Safari browser display
Hello Steve
Finally got to sort out using Apple's Web Inspector dev tool on a MACbook connected to an iphone so that the tool can analyse the code displaying on the iOS Safari.
I'm afraid It seems to be a more serious problem than a basic incompatibility between how the Flowcode Web Dev HTML page is displayed on Windows vs Apple. The tool refuses to acknowledge the existence of a correct HTML file.
I tried running the HTML file on the MACbook and I received the response shown in Pic 5. MACbook is not the same as iphone ipad iOS. So now it appears the HTML will not open on any APPLE device. A few moments after the message shown in Pic 5 the screen changed and produced the message shown in Pic 6. Haven't the faintest inkling on what address it's referring to unless it's the address of the local MQTT broker but in any case that has nothing to do with why the graphics in the HTML file are not being displayed.
However, the big clue to why an Apple device simply doesn't recognise the file as a valid HTML file is when looking at the dev tool. When attempting to analyse a well know web site displayed on the iphone as in Pic 1, you can see the tool immediately recognises the file as shown in Pic 2. You can see the subject page is shown as being on the iphone (on the left of the pic), and the page is immediately recognised as shown to the right of the pic. Web inspector is set to immediately display JSContexts. The subject HTML on the iPhone's Safari is immediately accepted as a recognizable file.
If I repeat the above sequence using the Flowcode Web Dev file on the iPhone Safari, (as shown in Pic 3), the web inspector tool simply can't recognise the file as a valid HTML file. It just draws a blank "No Inspectable Applications." See Pic 4.
So I'm afraid that's all I can come up with. I do think this warrants an investigation with a team of testers to determine what it is about the construction of the Flowcode HTML file that is causing Apple products to conk out. To reiterate I'm getting the same result on iOS phone, iOS ipad and on a MAC book.
On a final note I also saw this message but have totally lost the context of where this message belongs. See Pic 7. The word 'compiled' caught my attention because it's not part of the file name being tested. The Flowcode Web Dev HTML is obviously produced by some sort of compilation process so could it be that there is some sort of flag left in the HTML page that indicates the file is compiled and that Apple Safari is somehow baulking at that? I'm just clutching at straws here so could be talking double dutch as I really don't understand the goings on under the hood so to speak.
Sorry the investigation hasn't turned up anything more positive.

Re: Flowcode Developer's web export question re IOS Safari browser display
Thanks for the info.
Out of interest, does this also happen if a very basic Flowcode web app is created (e.g. like the attached one which has just a shape and a text field)?

Re: Flowcode Developer's web export question re IOS Safari browser display
Hi
Whilst you have access to a Mac, would you please try another browser such as Firefox and Chrome?
In a PM to Steve last weekend I had a colleague try on a new iPhone. It opened but no graphics, however Chrome wouldn't open at all.

Re: Flowcode Developer's web export question re IOS Safari browser display
Using iOS iPhone and iPad with BOTH SAFARI and Google CHROME there is a slight improvement in this BasicWebApp test file. The graphic displays correctly but the text, "It Works!" is missing being replaced by the word "Label"
See the attached screenshot. Same result for Safari and Chrome.
