Hi Team,
Not sure if this is a bug or on my side alone. excuse me if so.
Im new in the ESP boards and purchased the ESP_WROOM_32 as start. I programmed an simple test blink led (on board) and this works. so to me all packages, drivers toolchain datacords cristal freq etc works.
When i only already add the CANBUS component and initialize it the upload fails due a .h file he cant find ?
i tried internal and external MCP2515 and results are different but still stops compiling.
C:\ProgramData\MatrixTSL\FlowcodeV10\CAL\ESP\ESP_CAL_CAN.c from the text below does exist in my pc. it looks like it cannot find the can.h file to include?
The fail allready occurs without the unit connected to the USB so it should be easy to recreate. hope its simple...

I was out of the country for work. Now back on this subject I posted before I left.
I also updated the components.
I changed the default connections and now it’s compiling for external mcp2515. so i can at least work on my program. strange i overlooked that.
Internal 'mcp' is still producing a (cannot find driver/can.h?) fault. I see my toolchain ISP-IDF is still 5.3.1
How can i select or upload another compiler for ESP ?. i see there is only 'Default' and a possibility to upload and .fcs file.
There are newer 5.5.1 files on line but these are not a .fcs file is suppose but 1,5G of data
I hope Ben can find the issue and tell us how to update or fix it.

Just purchased the licence for the complete ESP package.
So far i cannot get any Build successful from the first four ESP32-C3 options. (the on board led is here GPIO8).
I have ordered an number of ESP32-C3 supermini boards because these are smaller. Because the build fails, i compiled the 'normal' ESP32, but that fails because it detects an ESP-C3. What tells me the USBc cable and module are recognised

Sorry I have now looked into the problem again and it seems to stem from the fact that espressif have changed CAN to TWAI in their latest version of IDF. TWAI - Two Wire Automotive Interface.
I've updated the CAL CAN file to change the include from can.h to twai.h and a lot of other instances of CAN throughout the file and this now seems to compile ok.
What prompted them to make the change I'm not sure. There's a rant about it here if you're interested.

How its going with what 'compiles' sofar...im testing now with the 'external' type. I create a can signal together with a blink led for test and it takes 1,5 minute after reboot for the led to start blinking. (without can it starts inmeadeately).
I measure signals with my scope on way different pins than selected. Curious if the change you did repairs this.
EDIT: i changed to some random different pins for mosi miso clk and now it starts in 5 seconds but again starnge output. i may need to find out the preferred pins to select.
Also, for example an decision compiling fine in AVR if 'LOOP = 1 OR LOOP = 2" now needs to be ' (LOOP = 1) or (LOOP = 2)'
... i have many hundreds of these in my program for different can data to be send.
